This article explains where a refunded order's money goes and how to check its status.

Where does my refund go?

A refund for an order goes back to your PerkUp balance — the same reward or budget that funded the original purchase. It never goes to a personal card or bank account. If you want to spend it again, it's available in your PerkUp balance just like any other funds, subject to whatever categories that reward was originally restricted to.

Will I get an email when my order is refunded?

No. There is no refund notification email. Your Transactions page in the app is the source of truth for refund status, so check there rather than waiting on an email that won't arrive.

How do I check if my order was refunded?

Open your Transactions page in the app and find the order. A refunded order shows a "Refunded" tag next to it. If you don't see that tag, the refund hasn't been processed yet.

Why was my order refunded?

Refunds happen for a few reasons: an item couldn't be fulfilled, support arranged a refund after a damaged, wrong, or missing item report, or (for Amazon orders specifically) the item became unavailable or was rejected — those are refunded automatically with an email. For other order types, refunds are typically arranged through a support conversation rather than happening automatically.

My order was refunded but I don't see the funds in my balance

Check the "Refunded" tag on the order in your Transactions page first — if it's there, the funds have been returned to the reward that funded the order. If that reward has since expired, the refunded amount may no longer be spendable. If you see the "Refunded" tag but the balance still looks wrong, contact support through the messenger on this help center or in the app with your order number.

One nuance worth knowing: refunds land on the reward that funded the order. If that reward shows as unaccepted or expired after the refund, re-accept the reward and the amount appears in your balance again. Merchant-cancelled orders refund within about 24 hours, and rejected Amazon orders refund automatically with an email confirmation.
