This article explains what to do if you see a charge on your Perk Card that you don't recognize, and how PerkUp handles it.

What should I do if I see a transaction I don't recognize?

If a transaction on your Perk Card doesn't look familiar, contact PerkUp support right away through the messenger in the app or on this help center. Treat it as urgent — the sooner you report it, the sooner support can look into it. Have these details ready when you reach out:

  • The merchant name as it appears on the transaction

  • The date and dollar amount of the charge

  • Whether the transaction shows as pending or completed

  • Anything else that looks off, like a second unfamiliar charge or a card detail you didn't recognize

You can find the full list of your card transactions, including dates, amounts, and merchant names, on your Transactions page.

Is there a self-serve way to dispute a charge?

No. PerkUp doesn't have a self-serve dispute or chargeback flow in the app. Unrecognized or unauthorized transactions are handled directly by PerkUp support, so reporting the charge through the messenger is the fastest way to get it looked into.

Could this be a legitimate charge I just don't recognize?

Sometimes a charge looks unfamiliar because the merchant's billing name is different from its store name, or because the purchase was made by mistake. Before reporting, check your Transactions page for the full merchant name and any order details attached to the charge. If it still doesn't match anything you bought, report it to support as described above rather than waiting to see if it resolves on its own.

What happens after I report an unrecognized transaction?

Contact PerkUp support right away with the transaction details — the merchant name, date, amount, and whether it's pending or completed. Support handles unrecognized transactions directly, so reporting quickly is the most important thing you can do.

Should I still use my Perk Card while this is being looked into?

You can keep using your Perk Card unless support advises otherwise. If you're concerned about further unauthorized activity, mention this when you contact support so they can advise on next steps for your account and card.

Timelines to expect

  • Refunds for confirmed unauthorized charges usually appear within 10 business days.

  • If the card processor has to run a formal dispute, resolution can take up to 90 days.

  • On confirmed fraud, PerkUp deactivates the compromised card and issues you a new one — your balance carries over.
