This article explains how a merchant refund makes its way back to your Perk Card and where it ends up.

Where does my refund go?

A merchant refund flows back automatically to the same reward(s) that funded the original purchase. If your purchase was funded by more than one reward, the refund is split back across those rewards in the same way the original purchase drew from them.

Does the refund go to my "card" or to my balance?

It restores your spendable balance in the originating reward(s) — it isn't a separate "card credit" or a new balance sitting on the card itself. Once the refund lands, that money is available to spend again just like any other funded reward balance.

How long does a refund take?

The refund reaches your balance as soon as the card network delivers it to PerkUp, which happens automatically without any action from you. Timing depends on the merchant — it can take a few days, and sometimes longer.

Do I need to do anything to receive a refund?

No. Refunds from merchants are automatic — you don't need to request or claim them in PerkUp. If a merchant has told you they issued a refund, it will appear in your balance once the card network processes it on their end.

What should I do if my refund hasn't shown up?

First, confirm with the merchant that they've actually issued the refund, since PerkUp can only apply a refund once the card network delivers it. If the merchant confirms it was issued but it still hasn't appeared in your balance after several days, contact support through the messenger on this help center or in the app with the merchant name, purchase date, and refund date so we can look into it.
