What is a kit?
A kit isn't a separate product you create — it's a mode you turn on for a bulk order. Kit mode lets you combine several products (say, a t-shirt, a water bottle, and a notebook) into one package that ships as a set, rather than ordering each item separately. This is the setup behind what people often call a "welcome kit": a kit-mode bulk order, usually stocked at a PerkUp warehouse, paired with the new-hire automation or a redemption page to get it into someone's hands. How do I set up a kit?
Start a bulk order at Bulk orders and turn on kit mode in the cart. Then:
Add the products you want bundled together into the kit.
Set the number of kits you need — this is how many complete bundles will be assembled.
Set how many units of each item go into a single kit (for example, one shirt and one bottle per kit).
Use the size-mix tools if any item has sizes — they automatically distribute quantities across sizes for you instead of requiring you to calculate the split by hand.
Success looks like your cart showing the correct number of complete kits, each containing the right items and size mix, ready to move into shipping allocations and approval like any other bulk order.
Can I order extra units that aren't part of a kit?
Yes. Spare units can ship separately from the assembled kits — useful if you want extra inventory on hand for new hires who join later, or replacements for damaged items, without breaking apart an already-built kit.
Does kit size affect shipping?
Yes. The overall size and weight of the assembled kit drives its shipping fee, since the kit ships as one package. Bundling more or bulkier items into a kit will increase the per-kit shipping cost accordingly.
Is a kit the same thing as a swag store collection?
No. A kit is a bulk-order mode for producing and shipping a bundled package — it isn't a product listed in your swag store. If you want members to browse and choose individual products themselves, use Swag collections instead. If you want to distribute a kit to specific people without them needing a PerkUp account, pair your kit-mode order with a redemption page.
