This article explains why the gift cards you see are limited to certain brands, countries, and currencies, and what to do if a brand you want isn't available or shows as out of stock.
Why don't I see the same gift cards as my coworker?
The gift card shop is filtered to your country. PerkUp works with a gift card partner who sets, for every brand, which countries it can be delivered in, what currency it's issued in, and what denominations are available. Two members in different countries can browse the same gift card catalog and see different brands, because each brand's availability is decided by the partner, not by PerkUp or your organization.
Why is the amount or currency different from what I expected?
Gift card denominations and currency are set per brand by our gift card partner, not by PerkUp. If a card is issued in a currency other than your local currency, that's a property of the brand itself in your country — it isn't something PerkUp can change on a single order. Check the denomination and currency shown on the card before you complete the purchase, since that's exactly what you'll receive.
All amounts on PerkUp are denominated and transacted in USD. Any other currency shown to you is a display currency only — it's cosmetic, and the displayed amount can fluctuate day to day with exchange rates.
What does it mean if a gift card is "out of stock"?
Some brands run out of stock with our gift card partner. If that happens, you'll see an error at the moment you try to purchase the card — your balance is not charged, and no code is issued. Out-of-stock brands aren't hidden in advance, so it's normal to see a brand listed and then get a stock error when you try to buy it. If this happens, try again later or choose a different brand; stock levels can change.
How do I change the country my gift card shop shows?
You can change your country yourself, but verify the new country is correct before you buy — the gift card shop will refilter to show the brands, currencies, and denominations available there. PerkUp is not responsible for refunding a gift card you purchased for the wrong country if it doesn't work where you actually are; gift cards are final sale once purchased, so get the country right first.
Are Amazon gift cards covered by these same rules?
Amazon gift cards work a little differently: they're available for the US and Canada only, with a separate card for each country. See "Amazon gift cards" for details on how those work. All other gift card brands follow the country, currency, and stock rules described above.
What should I do if I bought a gift card and something looks wrong?
If you completed a purchase and the code, currency, or amount doesn't match what you expected, don't try to reorder on your own. Contact support through the messenger on this help center or in the app and include your order number so we can look into it.
