This article explains where you can spend your PerkUp balance and why your options might look different from a coworker's — or from a friend at another company.
What can I spend my PerkUp balance on?
Depending on what your organization has enabled, you may be able to spend your PerkUp balance in up to four places:
The swag store — company-branded and catalog merchandise your organization has made available.
Gift cards — a shop of gift card brands, filtered to what's available in your country.
Amazon — an in-app Amazon shopping experience, where available in your country.
Your Perk Card — a prepaid virtual Visa card you can use anywhere Visa is accepted, within your approved reward categories.
Where you can spend depends both on what your reward covers and what your organization allows.
Why don't I see all of these spending options?
Two things control what you see: your organization's settings and your reward's approved categories. Organizations can turn off gift cards, Amazon shopping, food-related spending, or the Perk Card entirely — so a spending option might simply not exist for your company. Separately, each of your rewards is approved for specific merchant categories (like Swag, Food, Amazon, or Lifestyle) or for all merchants. If a reward is restricted to a specific category, you can only spend that portion of your balance in places that match it.
Why do two people at different companies see different spending options?
Every organization on PerkUp configures its own program — which spending surfaces are turned on, which merchant categories are approved, and which countries their products ship to. That means your balance and a friend's balance at a different company can behave completely differently, even if the dollar amounts are similar. If something you expect to see (like the Perk Card or Amazon shopping) isn't showing up in your account, it's most likely because your organization hasn't enabled it, rather than an error on your end.
What if I can't find a specific spending option I expect?
First, check whether the option might be tied to a specific reward's category rather than your whole balance — a reward restricted to Swag, for example, won't show gift cards as an option. If you still think something's missing that should be there, contact support through the messenger on this help center or in the app, or check with your organization's PerkUp admin, since spending options are configured at the company level.
