Your Perk Card works just like a prepaid Visa card.

Using your Perk Card is like using any Visa card. To use your Perk Card online, simply enter the card information on the store's checkout page.

Like a debit card, you can spend the funds in your PerkUp account.

If you want to make a purchase and you do not have enough funds, you can always: 

Use your PerkUp Card and another card (if the merchant accepts more than one payment method)

 to your account to increase your available funds

Use your Perk Card anywhere that Visa is accepted.

In case your location is not available for the physical card or faster checkouts, you can add your Perk Card to:

How to use your Perk Card

When you register for PerkUp, your card is inactive by default. It may also be unavailable in certain countries, so you might not find it on the site. 

If your card is inactive, it will appear like this:

You can check your available and rewards balances in the left-right corner by clicking "Rewards." Your card will be temporarily inactive if it says $0 or you have zero active rewards.

If your organization no longer employs you, you may be removed from the PerkUp account, and your card will be inactive or canceled. 

While creating your account, you may have created an organization in PerkUp. Try switching your organization to drop into your company's primary PerkUp account. 

If you see none of the seasons apply to you after reviewing the cases above, please contact our support team using the blue chat in the bottom left corner so we can help activate your card.

Great news! You can now add your Perk Card to your Apple Wallet!

To add your Perk Card to your Apple Wallet, follow these steps:

Open the Apple Wallet app on your iOS device

Click on the image of your Perk Card and then click 

Scan your Perk Card using the Apple Wallet app. The card number and your name should autofill into the app

 the card's Expiry Date, CVC, and Billing Address

Alternatively, you can enter all the card details manually by clicking 

You may be sent a 6 digit code you need to enter to verify your card. This code will be sent to the 

email address connected to your PerkUp account

That's it! You're ready to start using your Perk Card with Apple Pay!

Once you've added your Perk Card to your Apple Wallet, you can use your Perk Card on any PerkUp approved vendor that supports Apple Pay! This is a great option for those who prefer shopping locally and/or at physical stores.

Apple Wallet now supports PerkUp's Perk Cards.

 can save you a lot of time when making purchases online. In doing so, your Perk Card details will be saved to your browser and will give you the option to autofill the details when checking out. 

How to save your Perk Card to Google Chrome:

 (credit card button right below your email address)

Enter a nickname for the card at the bottom of the form. The nickname will appear when you select a form where you can use a saved payment method

Using your virtual Perk Card locally and at physical stores has never been easier!

To add your Perk Card to Google Pay, follow these steps:

Enter your Perk Card info. This info can be found on the 

 of your PerkUp account by clicking on the image of your Perk Card.

That's it! You're ready to start spending your perk budget with Google Pay!

Note — after adding your Perk Card, you may see a temporary charge from Google. This charge checks that your card is valid. It won't affect your balance and will go away shortly thereafter.

Physical Perk Cards can be a great alternative to virtual Perk Cards for those who are always on-the-go or like taking breaks from their smartphones.

To receive a physical Perk Card, follow these steps:

Click the blue "chat" button in the bottom right corner

Send us a message mentioning that you would like a physical card

Send us your home address so we can ship the card right to you

That's it! Your physical Perk Card will arrive within 5-10 business days!

Note — If you receive a physical card, you will no longer be able to use the virtualcard

You must be living in the United States or Canada to receive a physical card

How to get a physical Perk Card

Your billing address is the one associated with your PerkUp card and allows for online purchases to be successfully made. 

When deciding which billing address to use, it is mainly a matter of preference! 

Since your Perk Card is provided through your organization, you can use your company’s address or you can set your personal address. We recommend choosing whichever address will be most convenient during online checkouts.

What billing address should I use?

Learn how to add personal funds and top off your PerkUp budget for easy spending! 

If you’ve had your eye on something special and would like to use your PerkUp rewards towards the purchase, but still need a little extra to top off your budget, you can add personal funds to your account. 

How to add personal funds to your PerkUp balance

1. You will notice the white “Add funds” button at the top of your balance dashboard. It can also be accessed 

2.You will be navigated to the checkout screen and can add a personal credit card to complete the payment, hoose how much you’d like to add to your balance. Click “Custom” to add a specific amount: 

3. Once you’ve chosen your amount, click the  “Pay” button. 

In 3 easy steps, you’ve added personal funds to your PerkUp balance and are all set. 

It’s important to note that the majority of merchants won’t allow for split transactions between your PerkUp card and a personal bank card so adding personal funds is a great workaround to complete any purchase.

Personal funds can also be easily refunded using to the same payment method used. Just contact our customer support team and let us know how much you’d like returned, and we will process the refund request for you.

The refund could take up to 10 business days due to the banking processing time.

Although we’re sad to see you go and are sure your company is too, we’re excited about your new endeavors and wish you the best of luck! 

When talking about how this will affect your PerkUp account, it’s important to note that as the program provider, your company will most likely remove you from their PerkUp employee directory once your employment has ceased.

This means that your account and PerkUp card will no longer be active, along with your rewards. Please note that once you have left your company and are no longer active in the employee directory, your remaining funds 

This may be sad news, but we hope that your new employer already has an active company PerkUp program available for you to join! If that is the case, you will be given a new PerkUp card and account. 

If your new company does not have an active PerkUp program, we hope you will encourage them to look into PerkUp! Not only will you introduce a new and engaging employee rewards program for your new team, but you’ll be right back at it with a new PerkUp card to use on the perks you actually want!

What happens to my PerkUp funds if I leave my company?

There are a few reasons why your transactions might have been declined. You can check the specific reason that your transaction was declined by clicking it on the 

Below, we break down some of the most common decline reasons and what each of them means.

The approved amount is not enough to fund the reward"

In this case, you have funds that are approved for that merchant but not enough. This is likely because you have a reward that been restricted on how it can be spent. You can see whether a specific reward has been restricted by clicking it in your 

Let's say you have 2 rewards in your account. Reward #1 has been approved for all categories, whereas Reward #2 has 

only been approved for the food category.

If you were to attempt a transaction on Amazon for $35, it would be declined because only $20 has been approved to be spent on Amazon. The other $20 can only be spend on food-related merchants, such as DoorDash or Chipotle. In this example, you would see the decline reason, 

"The approved amount is not enough to fund the reward",

 because you have $20 that is approved for Amazon, but that's not enough to complete the transaction. 

"This merchant is not approved for any of your rewards"

This means the merchant has not been approved under any of your rewards. Occasionally, a reward you are sent may be restricted for specific categories only. You can see whether a specific reward has been restricted by clicking it in your 

Let's say you have a $20 reward that has been approved for 

. If you attempt a $15 transaction at a bookstore, the transaction will be declined and the reason will read 

"This merchant is not approved for any of your rewards" 

because the $20 you have available can only be spent at food-related merchants like DoorDash or Chipotle.

"The account balance is not enough to fund the program"

This means your organization has run out of funds inside of PerkUp. If this happens, please contact your company's PerkUp admin. Once your organization's balance has been topped up, you can try processing the transaction again.

"Your account has not been activated or is no longer active"

If your PerkUp account has been deactivated, your Perk Card will be made inactive, and subsequent transactions will be declined.

If your company is no longer using PerkUp, your Perk Card will be made inactive, and subsequent transactions will be declined.

Some, although very few, merchants have been banned in our system. In order to ensure your account remains secure, we have banned merchants deemed to present high risks of fraudulent activity.

Once you've reviewed the transaction in your account, if you think the decline was incorrect, and that the transaction should have been approved, please contact our support team and 

include the Transaction ID in your message

How to Handle Unrecognized Transactions on Your Account

If you notice a transaction on your account that you don’t recognize or where the amount is incorrect, it’s important to act quickly to protect your funds and resolve the issue as soon as possible. Please immediately contact our Customer Support team.

1. Transactions with Incorrect Amounts or Missing Refunds

If you identify a transaction where you participated but the amount charged is incorrect, or if you were expecting a refund that hasn’t arrived, we ask that you provide the following information to help us assist you:

 This could be a receipt, invoice, or purchase confirmation.

 A screenshot showing the transaction details will suffice if the transaction was made via an app or wallet.

 Refunds can take up to 10 business days to process and reflect in your account. Please wait for this period before contacting us. If this time has passed and you still haven’t received your refund, contact our customer support team so we can investigate and resolve the issue.

If you find a transaction on your account that you don’t recognize and haven’t authorized, it’s crucial to report this as soon as possible. We recommend the following steps:

 Ensure it’s not a charge related to a subscription or service you might have forgotten.

 Report the transaction to our support team so we can investigate it. In these cases, we will deactivate your previous card and issue a new one for security. 

We understand that situations like this can be stressful, and we will do everything possible to resolve them as quickly as possible. However, it’s important to note that sometimes, the payment processor may take up to 90 days to investigate and resolve the claim.
